Collaboration and cross-disciplinary research activity are prerequisites for addressing the grand challenges facing society both nationally and internationally.

The areas of research expertise underpinning the Intelligent Sensing team naturally facilitate cross-disciplinary work in providing solutions to many multi-sensor data acquisition and interpretation problems from various thematic areas such healthcare engineering, digital economy, including big data, and global uncertainties.

Examples of current collaborative research at the Intelligent Sensing laboratory include development of next generation of bionic limbs, ambient sensing for assistive living, tactile internet, massive MIMO and molecular communications, and multispectral imaging in food preservation processes.
