Our research in bionics requires a steady stream of volunteers willing to help by acting as a subject. We are therefore very interested in hearing from volunteers with upper-limb loss (hands or fingers).

Experiments vary in duration from 1 to 3 hours and may involve a range of non-invasive techniques such as recording muscle signals, peripheral nerve stimulation, performance of instrumented tasks and control of advanced prosthetic hands. All procedures are safe and most subjects find participating in experiments fun!

All experimental protocols have been approved by an independent Ethical Review Committee. We are very flexible in terms of time and we can cover UK travel and accommodation expenses.

If you would like to take part in our experiments please email Dr Kianoush Nazarpour at kianoush.nazarpour@newcastle.ac.uk
